Schiaparelli - to the extreme.

I am a HUGE fan of Schiaparelli and was interested when this turned up on Facebook with the caption - "A young Peggy Guggenheim wearing a cellophane dress designed by Schiaparelli, Paris, circa 1930."

Guggenheim devoted her life to championing the avant-garde world of art – a principle which extended beyond the works she collected, and well into her wardrobe. A great match with Schiaparelli.

Great photo! That cellophane fabric was a definite sensation (see below), but I believe it was fragile and flammable.
