i love sequinned jackets and wore a vintage one to my son's wedding last year made by Laurence Kazar. My other son gets married next year and I am looking at one by Stenay. Does anyone know anything about these designers? Very limited information on google! Many thanks

Hi vintagelover58 and welcome to the forums. I haven't heard of the designers but if you have pics of the labels, know dates or locations it might make searching easier.

Both Stenay and Laurence Kazar seem to have made a lot of beaded dresses/outfits in the 1980s/90s but you're right... googling comes up with virtually nothing. I see these labels fairly often in my local thrifts and it's gorgeous stuff!

Trademarkia for Laurence Kazar says First Use Anywhere: 1991 (I was surprised it wasn't 1980s), last filing 1992, and discontinued, un-revivable as of 2003.

Better Dresse really? I had seen couple of sequined dresses by Kazar around. Some of them look positively 80s with those big shoulder pads. Some are amazingly detailed and I am a sucker for anything shiny or sequiny. lol

The big shoulder pads didn't go out if fashion until the early '90s and you still see them (albeit smaller) until about '93.
