Reminds me of Japanese wood block prints, with an Arts and Crafts look to some of the vignettes, especially the pine cone and pine needles. The colorway looks early to mid 1960s to me.

You know what- I think I can see a seam in the selvedge text area where it joins onto the main body of the fabric, almost like the slevedge is from something else that was liberty fabric and has been stitched onto other material- but I could be imagining it. 
I think what you are seeing is just the inside of the seam of the dress.

I heard from Liberty Ltd today. They have confirmed that they produced a print called Vignette. It was printed on cotton and wool in 1969. They also said it is possible that it was printed on silk as a special order. The selvedge is part of the main fabric. I think this fabric is more likely to be cotton and wool.
