My parents, 1956, in front of St. Benedict's church in Ealing, London, UK.
The dress was custom-made by a local dressmaker, the mother of my mother’s friend.
My mother says she wasn’t even given the opportunity to assist in the design! She just remembers asking for a square neckline and being told to bring 8 yards of fabric. The dress was sleeveless and she had a long-sleeved lace bolero jacket to go over it. The veil was borrowed from her matron-of-honor. Mom says she accidently trod on it and tore a hole... she was so worried about what her friend would say but the friend never mentioned it!
I remember the gown being part of our dress-up play-clothes trunk as kids... after the white rayon satin had discolored to a golden yellow over several years in storage.

I have harvested the most recent submissions, and ready for more!

@denisebrain thank you for the offer, but IMO you are already spread too thin. I actually have some public domain photos in reserve from the 1940s, as I felt that decade was at risk of getting overwhelming. At some point this autumn or winter, I'll dig into Flickr - or perhaps I'll have a partner/volunteer by then to further develop this. Eventually, some of the decade threads may get broken down into 5 year intervals, just to help them load better.

Clearly, I got behind on harvesting wedding resource submissions - my apologies!

I am now caught up and ready for more. Maggie @denisebrain - I credited your personal ones as Denisebrain - would you prefer your actual name? And Marsha @Ranch Queen Vintage - should I credit you? Or Ellen, the daughter of the bride & groom?
